Using Lopp's snapshot provided on his website I synced my node to chaintip. When I tried re-scanning my LND wallet, it encountered an error where it couldn't locate the block to start the re-scan. Checking the debug log for bitcoind I see a similar error. I assume this is because the snapshot doesn't contain the required information. I read on Lopp's site that bitcoin core will try and download the old blocks after it reaches chaintip, but I can't find evidence that this is happening. I installed the coin 98 super wallet on my Android phone and imported a wallet using my 12 words from a previous wallet I have owned. I chose to import it to a multi-chain type when given the choice. my machine running my bitcoin core node (v28) crashed with some severe hardware failures unrelated to bitcoin core. After restoring the machine and restarting bitcoin core (machine was down for a day), bitcoin core seems to recover fine and starts syncing up again. However, I saw the following log appear in the command line during the restart (before the resync of missing blocks started): Assuming ancestors of block have valid signatures. When I do a "loop in" on modern lnd/loop/loopd, I get a p2tr address to which I send the payment. Let's consider such an address for one of my own loop ins. I expected that for a submarine swap, the side who does "loop in" gets a hash for an unknown preimage for making the invoice. Then I make an invoice, receive a "payment" (which I cannot redeem until I learn the preimage), then I send payment to an on-chain address that can be sweeped by my loop counterparty only by revealing the preimage. The counterparty sweeps, I see the preimage, I settle the invoice, all done. What I really see is that after my on-chain payment gets approximately 3 confirmations, nobody sweeps the destination p2tr address, but I get my invoice settled and lnd channel balance topped up. I loaded Bitcoin core 29.0 and the default was a 2GB pruning. After running for a little while, I've decided to change that to a full copy. When I tried to remove the prune setting, it gave me a reminder that I would need to re-upload. When I click OK it gives me an error message. Now, the program won't start at all and I can't get back to the settings menu, it just loops the reminder to re-load then error messages. I've tried deleting and reloading the program - same. I had my bitcoin core running on my ubuntu machine quite nicely for quite some time, but then forgot about it for about a year or two. When I finally started it again it was near two years behind and started to update. But when I looked the next day it was nowhere to be seen. First I updated to the latest version and then I re-started and again it terminated after (probably) a few hours. I made another attempt and when that failed I ran it with -reindex. That re-indexed the first 4-5 years but then started to terminate again after some time - sometimes less than an hour. I don't see any error messages, the application is just gone.
