Fundamentals or FOMO?

I cannot say exactly what it means for crypto's ecosystem, but it looks to me as if there's a major shift as to what crypto traders and investors generally prioritize when it comes to buying or even holding crypto.

I remember when I first got into crypto, I quickly figured out the "Big two" BTC and ETH, but just after those we had projects that everyone generally agreed had lots of potential and are great investment choices.

Think of projects like SOL, ADA and XRP, during those times I put some money in these guys, and while I agree that SOL is still doing very well, it feels like the other two haven't lived up to the hype, especially XRP, which used to be my favourite.

I still think it's a solid project, but I think people prioritize projects that do massive numbers within short periods now, as opposed to more stable projects. Which is a bit weird considering XRP price at moment, one would assume that fundamental projects like XRP or even ADA would appeal to investors as it provides a stable option for investments.

But at the moment, there isn't a lot of focus on that. Most people now prefer to put a lot of money into highly volatile projects, mostly memecoins, as a way of trying to get massive increase on their capital, I don't think it's a bad idea, I'm just very skeptical about taking uncalculated risks and that's what these projects represent to me, especially when there's no spelt out utility.
