Listening on incoming connections on non-default port

I'm using AirVPN to port forward my incoming connections in testnet4 node. However, AirVPN does not allow me to use port 48333 for the exit port, and it gives me a random one. Can this affect the number of connections I might have? Do nodes establish connections only with nodes of the same port?

I currently have 0 incoming connections, for a long time.
