I have no idea what I am doing. Please help me to understand the process and meaning of Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining!

I do not understand any of this process. I have no idea or understanding of what, how, or why Bitcoin mining works as a system. This would be like me trying to read a foreign language. Please someone help me to understand what I am suppose to be doing on this platform.
