I need help linking wallet to my newly established Bitcoin Core node

I am running a Bitcoin Core node (28.1) and I wish to use it as a server for my wallet. My node is running on a dedicated desktop running Windows 10. It is clearly accepting peer connections (10 peers) but for some reason I can't connect to it from my wallet. Also, no luck using the tool at https://bitnodes.io/nodes/addresses/. I get an error "Enter a valid IP address" even though the IP address is correct. I have reviewed my wallet's documentation on connecting to Bitcoin Core, but I still cannot get my wallet to connect. It connects OK to various public servers. Any help would be appreciated.
