Understanding Bitcoin as a System (systems theory perspective)

The Bitcoin System

The mindmap is my attempt to show the components of what I am calling the "Bitcoin System". It attempts to show the key components that make up Bitcoin as an operating technology.

My motivation is to obtain a better understanding of Bitcoin as a system (system: a group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming a complex whole).

In particular, these elements are the things I believe anyone wanting to be knowledgeable about Bitcoin should have some (at least cursory) understanding. And they are the things you would look at on a regular basis to have a sense of how Bitcoin is evolving over time.

I am looking for the following feedback:

  1. What's missing?
  2. And at the same time, what does not belong?
  3. Can the elements be better presented or simplified to aid understanding?
  4. Anything else worthy of comment?

Once I have the feedback I will update the mindmap and show it to the Bitcoin community.

Sam Bankman-Fried Trial Begins Tomorrow: 3 Reasons Ex-SEC Official Foresees Conviction

The trial of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX and hedge fund Alameda Research, is set to commence in New York on Tuesday, October 3.  This comes almost a year after the collapse of both FTX and Alameda Research. The events leading up to the trial paint a picture of alleged fraudulent activities and money laundering that caused significant damage to the businesses involved. Ethereum Price Plummets 9% As Fed Chair Passes Hawkish Remarks

The crypto community has witnessed another price plunge after the just concluded Federal Reserve annual meeting. Many investors already anticipated a new turn in asset prices after Jerome Powell spoke on the approach to combat inflation. But from the turn of events, Powell tipped the scale against investors’ expectations. As a result, many cryptocurrencies and equities have already started a downward price trend. Ethereum (ETH) and many other cryptocurrencies have lost some August 25 price gains. After the meeting, ETH’s price tanked 9% and stood at $1555. But the bears continued to push the price lower.
